Cathy's Story
School
I attend Roosevelt Elementary School in Salt Lake City, Utah from 1st through 6th grade, from 1951 through 1958. I then went to Granite Junior High for one year, 1958 and 59, then up the hill to Evergreen Junior High School for 8th and 9th Grade, 1959 through 1961. I was a 'farmer' at Granite High School from 1961 through 1964. From 1964 through 1968 I attended and graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in journalism and political science. While there I was active on the student newspaper, The Chronicle, and the yearbook, The Utonian. I later attended UCLA in Los Angeles , working towards a Masters degree in History, until my traveling and a career with the airlines took over.
College
I attended the University of Utah from 1964 through 1968 and graduated with a Liberal Arts degree, majoring in Journa...Expand for more
lism and Political Scicence. I then studied toward a Masters degree at UCLA in Los Angeles focusing on History, until career obligations redirected my interest.
Workplace
Began working for American Airline as as summer temporary in the spring of 1970. Moved on to a permanent position in customer service with Western Airlines in October of 1970, both of these positions were in Los Angeles. American was in downtown L.A. and with Western at LAX. In 1978 I moved to SEA with Western and we bought a home in Tacoma Washington. Western Airlines became Delta in 1987 and I continued working with Delta until 1988 when I took a LOA. In 1999 I took early retirement from Delta Airlines. Currently I pursue Volunteer interests and writing, and I am involved in property management, managing several properties that my husband and I own.
